At EnergizeNigeria, we are committed to supporting youth-led innovation that addresses Nigeria’s energy challenges. Our approach is built around a clear and structured pathway that guides young innovators from idea submission to full project development, mentorship, and potential investment. This ensures that every idea is given the opportunity to grow into a viable and scalable solution capable of transforming communities across the country.

We begin with identifying real energy challenges faced by communities across Nigeria. Through research, field insights, and local consultations, we study areas with limited access to reliable energy, understand how these gaps affect daily life, and explore emerging opportunities in sustainable and clean energy. This foundation ensures that the ideas we support are grounded in real needs and have the potential for meaningful impact.

We actively engage young Nigerians who are passionate about developing energy solutions. Through outreach, partnerships, and community engagement, we invite students, entrepreneurs, inventors, researchers, and creative thinkers to share their ideas with us. Our goal is to give young innovators a platform where their ideas are acknowledged, refined, and prepared for future growth.

Innovators begin their journey with us by submitting a concise summary of their proposal. This summary explains the problem they aim to solve, the solution they are proposing, the method or technology behind it, the potential beneficiaries, and any early signs of feasibility or research. This initial submission helps us understand the innovator’s vision and how well it aligns with our mission.

After submission, proposals are reviewed by our Operations Team. During this stage, the team carefully evaluates the idea’s feasibility, relevance to Nigeria’s energy challenges, level of innovation, capacity for long-term growth, and potential impact. Only proposals that meet our established criteria are approved to move forward to the next stage.

Proposals that pass the internal review are then assessed by a panel of experts. The panel includes professionals in energy, technology, business strategy, public policy, and environmental fields. They conduct a more detailed evaluation of each proposal and determine whether the innovator should proceed to an interview and early mentorship phase. This step ensures that the most promising and well-founded ideas advance.

Innovators whose proposals are approved by the panel are invited for an interview and an initial mentorship session. The interview allows the panel and mentors to understand the innovator’s vision more clearly, evaluate their commitment, and discuss the practicalities of developing the idea. The initial mentorship helps refine the concept, address early gaps, and identify opportunities for improvement. This stage helps prepare the innovator for deeper development.

Once the idea shows clear potential, the innovator enters a more structured development phase. During this period, they receive ongoing mentorship, technical guidance, business support, and access to resources that help them strengthen their concept. This may include prototype development, market insight, operational planning, and business model refinement. The aim is to transform the concept into an investment-ready solution.

When the idea is fully developed, it is presented to our network of investors and funding partners. These investors review the solution to determine its readiness for market entry, potential for scalability, financial sustainability, and social impact. Innovators who meet investor expectations are invited to pitch their ideas during formal pitch sessions or investment events.

After successful pitch sessions, innovators may receive seed funding, technical partnerships, incubation support, or opportunities to run pilot demonstrations of their solutions. This stage provides the resources and exposure necessary to move from concept to real-world implementation.

Following investment or partnership, we continue to support innovators as they deploy their solutions in real communities. We help track impact, navigate operational challenges, access additional networks, and refine systems for long-term success. Our aim is to help innovators build solutions that can scale across Nigeria and contribute meaningfully to reducing the country’s energy gaps.
